LA Breakers FC partners with FC Long Beach
PRESS RELEASE
LA Breakers FC and FC Long Beach proudly announce a new partnership, with FC Long Beach becoming a chapter of the LA Breakers FC beginning June 2023.
The two organizations will continue to operate independently as 501(c)3 charitable organizations, but will partner on club values and philosophy; coach education; and player development curriculum and opportunities.
“LA Breakers FC is delighted to welcome FC Long Beach to our family,” said Richard Simms, LA Breakers FC Club Director. “Their club has a rich history of developing talented players and cultivating a strong sense of community. I look forward to working with their Director of Coaching Mark Hervin, and the rest of their organization as we raise the level of soccer on the Westside.”
FC Long Beach will be renamed as LA Breakers FC - Long Beach, with all players and teams registering in leagues and tournaments under the LA Breakers FC banner, allowing teams from both organizations to support each other with cross-training, guest playing, and club passing opportunities.
LA Breakers FC - Long Beach teams will wear official LA Breakers FC uniforms, beginning August 2023, and the clubs will collaborate on marketing and branding opportunities. Seasonal intra-club friendlies and other competitive opportunities will also be organized.
“We are excited about this partnership to expand pathways to the top level of competition for our players, teams, and coaches,” said Mark Hervin, FC Long Beach Director of Coaching. “FC Long Beach has grown over the last 18 years, and we look forward to its continued success as part of the LA Breakers FC community.”
The partnership increases the scope and demographic of both clubs. FC Long Beach’s 22 teams and 270 players joins LA Breakers FC’s membership, creating an entity of approximately 70 teams and 1,000 players. The larger player pool generates more opportunities on and off the field for the clubs and its members.
Added Simms: “Our future continues to grow brighter It’s a great day to be a Breaker.”
